We will me at 8:30am on the morning of class and do the range qualification. Then we do the classroom portion at my office. All of it is very simple. I've never had anyone fail either the range qualification or the classroom part....it is really very simple.

ABOUT ME

My name is Chris McCollum, and I am a Concealed Handgun License Instructor (CHL Instructor) certified by the State of Texas Department of Public Safety. I am also a certified Firearms Instructor.

I grew up shooting and hunting in the outdoors with my father who is a fish & wildlife biologist. Every chance we could, we would be outdoors hunting and fishing. While the huunting and fishing part (except for fly fishing!) of that was never my strong suit, it was the time with him that I enjoyed most. Having a natural propensity for guns and shooting, I fell in love with the technical and tactical aspects, strong points, short comings, uses, look, calibers, etc of all things gun related.

Fast forward to adulthood, I became interested in learning more about concealed (CHL) handgun laws, so I grabbed a couple of friends and started looking for a Dallas Fort Worth concealed handgun class. There weren't very many Dallas CHL classes that offered much instruction other than that required by the state. But after taking a CHL class in Plano, I quickly realized that being licensed to carry a gun in public was NOT enough to make one tactically proficient in its every day uses…..especially when used under extreme duress.

What would I do if someone mugged me while pumping gas? What if I was in a crowded store? What would I do if it was pitch black outside?

Those thoughts motivated me to learn more. Over the years, I took every tactical class I could find. One thing that I learned while taking them was not only was I gaining an amazing skill set, but I was having an absolute blast doing it! What could be more fun than this?

The answer? Teaching CHL classes! I started to work my way into being a certified Firearms Instructor through the internationally recognized curriculum of the National Rifle Association. The next logical step was to teach residents of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex concealed handgun classes in a way that was not only educational and met the requirements given by the state, but was also fun and a lasting memory for those that took my classes.

Are you looking for a Dallas CHL class? A north Dallas CHL class? A Plano CHL class? I am based out of the Allen and Plano area, but have classes for anyone in the Metroplex. If you're looking for a concealed handgun class (aka CHL class) in the Dallas, Plano, Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Arlington, Fort Worth area, I am very flexible with how and when I schedule classes and am able to teach private classes if needed. But, I highly encourage you to get a group together and take one of my classes. It is MUCH more fun! For that matter anywhere in Tarrant, Dallas, Collin, or surrounding counties then this is the place for you!

Class is very laid back, informative, includes everything you need to get your CHL...... and a memorable experience.
